Hi Marion,

I haven't had any remission since I am newly diagnoses with MFPS.  All I know today is I took my 125 lb. Rottweiler out for a walk (first walk in about 3 weeks) and some other dogs that were running loose confronted us.  My baby went into defense mode, gave them the Rottie scare the crap out of you look and then lunged dragging me behind her until they retreated.   Of course, after all of this she expected a treat and not the stern talking to cheesy .  I am going to have to know on that neighbors door and insist that she obey the leash law or I will not be responsible for her little Bichon and other mutt.

It was a good day for me though I can feel the knotted muscles in my back I no longer pick up anything heavier than 5 lbs.  Even with muscle relaxers I can feel the knots in my entire back and neck.   I grocery shopped for 2 hours even with a list (cognitive dysfunction - memory and concentration).  I cleaned and did laundry and took no nap.  My biggest mistake was to go to Starbucks and get a Grande Egg Nog Latte and now I can't sleep.

I can't let anything slow me down this weekend because my daughters big dance is tomorrow.  Both her girlfriend and her boyfriend (girls in her room, boyfriend in room next to us) are going to be spending the night and possibly more because there is a threat of snow (my daughters boyfriends house will definitely get some which is why he is staying with us).  We are pretty used to having them spend the weekend at each others house with parental supervision).  Sunday we have our end of the year soccer party which I am now also making a lasagna.  There I will have to see someone that I don't get along with and it will be miserable but my friends will come to my rescue.  Monday I will sleep! Smiley

Take Care,
Julie

Don't leave it too long before you get another type of thyroxine.
Maybe your symptoms are milder than mine... but I came off it, mid/last year (to test if I still needed it, after 12 years on it...I was on 150mcg daily), and for a couple/3 weeks, felt ok, no better, no worse... then suddenly, without me realising what happened to me, things started creeping up on me, until I seriously crashed and had become too debilitated to even bother getting medical help (not joking, I could hardly walk....and so many other worrying things)...

I just mean that you may feel ok now... and you may indeed be...
but please be careful, the changes can be slow, but very real..

C1, an ESI is epidural steroid injection.  I had injection in my neck to calm the nerves that were being irritated and inflammed by a little bit of a buldging disk.  It simmered things down so that I could do some gentle physical therapy and muscle strengthening.

My myo stuff is confined to neck and upper right shoulder area, and it usually gives me an odd sort of ache and tingling, and a type of "tightness" that is different than just the ache & tightness you feel from a good workout. Sorta hard to explain the sensation.... sometimes felt like stuff was rubbing on top of each other when doing certain movements.

Marion, I was having relief from the ESI long before I was dx'd and given med for thyroid.  This nerve stuff is from a bulging disk.

I'm not on any thyroid med anymore.  I tapered off of it and stopped taking it all together last weekend.

It's amazing how much better I feel OFF of the med than when I was ON it. It was making me physically ill and affecting my mental thinking abilities.  I have a clear head now.  Although, I still have my mild naughty thyroid symptoms.  AT least it's better than what the drug was doing to me.  I need to get a different type thyroid med to try.

Could it be that it was a symptom of the underactive thyroid, which has recently been discovered?
And that the thyroxine is beginning to make some difference...?

What is ESI?

And, how do you seperate the myofascial pain from all the other pain? I have always wondered this.

Can it be that the ESI I had in my neck a few months ago has finally calmed the beast?

I am told that myofascial stuff can sometimes lay dormant for periods of time before striking again.  I think that's probably what is going on.

I am loving it.

I am being careful not to strain my muscles, but at the same time I am trying very slowly and lightly to increase a little muscle strength without disturbing the beast.

Anyone else ever have quiet periods of no symptoms?
