I'm watching the tv for the commercial. I am praying that it comes on again so I can get the information for you. I tried a google on it, but nothing turned up. I had hoped to find something on it for you.

Sheesh, with me the IBS is the opposite, I have to take dynamite to go! LOL! ;>)

Hi Sez,

I have an addiction to sugars as well. Though I have to be careful because diabetes runs in my family. My sister was diagnosed with it just recently, as well as an under active thyroid.

She takes the pill, which made her gain a ton of weight. I feel badly for her.  Whatever pill this was that she was taking was the casue of the weight gain, along with the thyroid issues. I think, not sure, but I think they put her on a different medication. she doesn't take the insulin shots yet.

She also does cheat, but for the most part is very careful.

There are many diabetic recipes online for sweets etc.. In fact there was a commercial on the other day offering a free cook book. If it comes on again I'll get the phone number for you and post it here so that you can get one. I"m not sure if they had a web site, but if they do, I'll post that for you also.

There are many sugar free treats out there. My husband has hypoglycemia, so he has to watch what he eats as well. The kids usually buy him sugar free candy. the only side effect of that is that it makes you hit the bathroom a lot.

btw, I love your sig line! lol, it is soo true!

Have a great day, and I hope that I was able to give you a bit of information to help you out.

Deb

Hiya
I am diabetic ... I have been for nearly 14 years now .. I am on two types of insulin .. one I take after each meal and one I take a night time .. I also take a tablet with my main meal ...
I don't think I take my dieabete's as serious as I should .. I like chocolate I love boiled sweets and all that sort of stuff .. I don''t alot of it but when I eat it I eat it ... I have had sugar levels as high as 30 plus ... when I should be 7 ... so I have been very high ..
I do want to learn more about how to be a good diabetic ... But it is hard ... My mum had it my nan had it my uncle had it my cousin has it so it runs in my family too .. My nan my mum and my uncle have all passed away now ... not because of diabetic reasons ..

I would be interested in know how others cope when faced with sugar etc .. I dont like sugar ion my tea or coffee any more but its the sweets that get me ...

Thank you
Take care

I have decided to add some new topics to the forum. Diabetes runs in my famiy and my sister was just diagnoised with it. So in her honor I am starting a new section where people can chat, and share information on recipes and just whatever they feel like sharing!
